Sole Signal

Greg Michalec (artist name of Sole Signal) is a twenty-two year old Valparaiso University student currently based in Valparaiso, IN, who has had his music featured in several indie films and videogames, and recently produced the Valparaiso University Crusaders men's basketball introduction track. He has slowly developed a large online fanbase with his unique blend of electronic, acoustic, and orchestral styles. He has done remixes of many popular film and video game tracks which, along with his original works, have garnered tens of thousands of plays online.

New free ringtones section

Now you can grab free ringtones from Protagonist artists. These are short 30-second clips of songs that you can load onto your cellphone and set to be your ringtone. When your phone rings and your friends ask, "Where did you get those glorious melodies?!!" tell them about protagonistrecords.net! We've just got SGX and Audix ringtones at the moment, but we should be adding more soon. Check it out in the new ringtones section.

Life of a Spy is an awesome take on the good old James Bond theme. With a great percussion groove, deliberate pace, strings, and a bit of atmosphere, the track really exudes the spy attitude. This track is a part of the recently released GoldenEye Source OST which Audix worked on with another artist known as Basstronix. You can download the .zip of the whole OST here. Audix, Wil Deynes - Super Wonderful (Audix remix)

Pop-rock artist Wil Deynes contacted our Audix to put together a remix of his Ourstage-topping track, "Super Wonderful" and this is what Audix created. The remix is a catchy, bouncy, happy, and light electronica/pop concoction that will either lift your spirits or give you a cavity. It's not the normal Protagonist type release, but it is quality stuff and nice for a change.

Audix hits us with an epic trance rendition of classic Star Wars themes. He includes the main theme, the Imperial Death March, and Battle of the Heroes. Very often trance remixes of epic movie themes can seem like the main melody in saw wave plus four on the floor kicks, but Audix manages to bring it all together with a quality arrangement that works as epic trance AND showcases the classic melodies in a recognizable way.
